Un obstetra / ginecólogo, es un médico que se especializa en salud reproductiva femenina, embarazo y parto. Sin embargo, la práctica de OB / GYN no se limita solo a estas áreas. Los obstetras / ginecólogos también pueden actuar como proveedor de atención médica primaria de la mujer o PCP. Pueden detectar enfermedades como el cáncer de mama y del aparato reproductor femenino, la diabetes y la presión arterial alta (también conocida como hipertensión). También pueden ayudar a las mujeres que tienen problemas para quedar embarazadas, así como a las que se consideran en alto riesgo de tener problemas de salud durante y después del embarazo. Los obstetras / ginecólogos también pueden ayudar a las mujeres con trastornos del tracto urinario. Algunos obstetras / ginecólogos trabajan con niños y adolescentes, mientras que otros se enfocan en adultos y / o mujeres mayores.

PUNAM CHAUHAN, MD

La educación médica de la Dra. Chauhan comenzó en India, donde completó su MBBS en SP Medical College en 1998 como la mejor estudiante durante tres años. Durante los tres años que estuvo empleada como trabajadora de campo ayudando a inmunizar a los niños contra la poliomielitis y a organizar campañas de donación de sangre, la Dra. Chauhan también completó su residencia en Obstetricia y Ginecología en SN Medical College en Agra, India en 2004. Después de la residencia, se mudó a Reino Unido y fue empleado tanto por el Hospital Queen Elizabeth como por el Hospital Queen Mary como Oficial Superior de la Casa. Está registrada en el Consejo Médico General del Reino Unido. Después de venir a los Estados Unidos, la Dra. Chauhan completó otro programa de residencia en Obstetricia y Ginecología en 2010 en Flushing Hospital Medical Center, donde recibió un premio en su segundo año como la mejor residente docente. DR. ROBIN HILSENRATH

La Dra. Hilsenrath recibió su Doctorado en Medicina en la American University of the Caribbean en Montserrat, British West Indies. Completó su residencia en Stamford Hospital en Stamford, CT y luego realizó una beca en Baylor College of Medicine, donde practicó endocrinología reproductiva y medicina de infertilidad en Houston, Texas. SONIA KIM, MD

After receiving her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados, Dr. Sonia Kim completed an internship at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. She then completed her residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Kim is a skilled and experienced OB/GYN who provides exceptional care for women at all stages of their lives. Dr. Kim helps women stay healthy and prepare for pregnancy. She offers prenatal, labor and delivery, and postnatal care, and guides women through the changes and challenges of menopause.

OLGA LEVIN, PA-C

Flory Angeles, PA-C comes to CMADC with 18 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She attended SUNY Downstate Medical Center’s PA program and has gone on to work at prestigious hospitals including Mt. SINAI & NYU Langone, managing every aspect of obstetrics from ante-partum to post-partum.

Flory is known to consistently demonstrate outstanding and compassionate care in all settings. She has a strong ability to make decisions under extreme circumstances, remain calm in stressful situations, and maintain a constant flow of communication with all those involved. Flory also has a keen ability to promptly recognize potential problems and provide immediate insight and potential resolutions.

Flory is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. We are very proud to have Flory on our OB/GYN team.

OLGA LEVIN, PA-C

Miriam (Melissa) Cantor, LM, CM, MS is a midwife with over 7 years’ experience in the field of childbirth, first as a doula (labor coach) and then as a midwife. Miriam graduated from the longstanding Midwifery Institute at Thomas Jefferson University.

Miriam is proud to be able to provide woman-centered, holistic midwifery to the Rockland County community. She sees women for gynecology and all aspects of pregnancy care.

REBECCA BIRNBAUM, FNP-BC

Rebecca Birnbaum received her Masters of Science and Nursing at Chamberlain University in Chicago, IL. She is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner, experienced in a range of sub-specialties such as cardiology, neurology, internal medicine and women’s health.

Her previous experience includes: Staff Registered Nurse at NorthShore University Health System in Evanston & Skokie, IL, FNP at R & W Medical Center in Chicago, IL and FNP at Midtown Reproductive Medicine in New York City.

Rebecca is compassionate and dependable with a strong desire to provide optimal medical care to her patients.

Rebecca joined the CMADC team of providers in 2023.

In addition to seeing women in OB/GYN, Rebecca also services adults in the Primary Care department.

SHAINA ROSENWASSER-SELZER, WHNP-BC

Shaina Rosenwasser obtained her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner certification at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She has been trained in all aspects of Women’s Health, treating women of all ages in gynecological, prenatal, obstetrics and post-partum care.

Shaina conducts well-women annual exams, including education and prevention for diseases including cervical cancer. She provides counseling on family planning and contraception, and treatment for adolescents, childbearing, menopausal and post-menopausal women.

Shaina’s well-rounded background and experience in Women’s Healthcare as well as in general nursing makes her a kind and compassionate provider appealing to women of all ages and backgrounds.

We are fortunate to have her as part of our OB/GYN team.
