Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctors are trained in the treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat. This can include ringing in the ears; hearing problems; sinus issues or problems breathing through the nose; and swallowing or voice challenges. Some ENT doctors can also perform surgery to help rebuild the internal workings of sinuses and other structures by using plastic surgery to help people breathe, speak, swallow and hear better.
